To sensibly manage enrolments and to prevent overcrowding within the bounds of the Education Act, Cornwall Park District School has an approved Ministry of Education enrolment scheme. The Education Act 1989 enables the school to enrol students from the age of 5 years.

THE ENROLMENT SCHEME

Home Zone Enrolments
All children who reside within the Home Zone (refer map) will, as of right, be entitled to enrolment. Proof of residence within the Home Zone will be required.

Each year, applications from in-zone students for enrolment in the following year, will be sought by a date that will be published in the school newsletter available online.

Out of Zone Enrolments
Each year the Board will determine the number of places that are likely to be available in the following year for the enrolment of out of zone students. Closing dates for applications will be advertised in the local community newspaper. Applications for out of zone enrolment will be processed in the following order of priority:

First Priority applies to special programmes approved by the Secretary for Education – This priority is not applicable at Cornwall Park District School, as this school does not run a special programme approved by the Secretary.
Second Priority will be given to applicants who are siblings of current students.

Third Priority will be given to siblings of former students
Fourth Priority will be given to applicants who are children of former students.
Fifth Priority will be given to applicants who are children of Board employees
Sixth Priority will be given to all other applicants.
 

If there are more applicants in the second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth priority groups above than there are places available, selection within the priority group will be by a ballot conducted in accordance with instructions issued by the Secretary under Section 11G(1) of the Education Act 1989.

Closing dates for applications and ballot dates will be advertised on the school website and in the school newsletter (available online).
